From the North, I-40 and
Asheville area
Take I-26 to Airport exit #40. Turn right
on Hwy 280 toward the airport and continue toward Brevard, approx. 16
miles. Turn left at stoplight onto Hwy 64E at Eckerds. Go 3.7 mi. to Crab Creek
Rd. (Vulcan Quarry and Texaco Station.) Turn right. Proceed 4.3 miles to DuPont Rd. Turn Right,
go 2 miles. Campground is on the right, just past the horse crossing
sign and Hamilton Estates. Upon entering Campground, use 4wd if you have
it, otherwise keep steady speed up the hill. Upon Entering
Campground, use 4WD if you have it, otherwise keep steady speed up the
hill.
From the South, or Spartanburg area
I-26 to Hendersonville/Upward Rd. Exit
#53. Turn left, toward Cracker Barrel/Hendersonville. Continue on Upward
Rd. Cross over four lane rd. Proceed past
Ingles. Upward Rd. becomes Highland Lake Rd. Go to stoplight at US 225
(Presbyterian Church on Right). Turn left, go to Flat Rock Playhouse
at
light. Turn right onto Little River Rd. Go approx. 5 miles to stop sign,
flashing red light. Turn left onto Kanuga (Crab Creek Rd.) Go approx. 7 miles to DuPont Rd. Turn left.
Campground is 2 miles on right, just past the horse crossing sign and
Hamilton Estates. Upon Entering Campground, use 4WD if you have
it, otherwise keep steady speed up the hill.
From Atlanta area via Greenville, SC
Take Hwy 25N to Flat Rock/Tuxedo Exit #5.
Go left onto Old Greenville Hwy. Go
to 2nd stoplight, (just past the Wrinkled Egg Shop) turn left at the Flat Rock Playhouse,
onto Little River Rd. Go approx. 5 miles to stop sign, flashing red
light. Turn left onto Kanuga (Crab Creek Rd.) Go approx. 7 miles to DuPont Rd. Turn left.
Campground is 2 miles on right, just past the horse crossing sign and
Hamilton Estates. Upon Entering Campground, use 4WD if you
have it, otherwise keep steady speed up the hill.
From Greenville, SC via Hwy. 276, Cedar Mountain area
(not recommended for large RV's or
trailers)
Take right onto Cascade Lake Rd. from Cedar Mountain. at the new fire station. Go to Staton
Rd. Turn Right. Pass Hooker Falls trailhead on left. Go exactly 1 mile,
campground is on left. Upon Entering Campground, use 4WD if you
have it, otherwise keep steady speed up the hill.
To Go Home:
To Asheville area and I-40: Left
out of the campground. Left at Stop sign. Left at next stoplight. Right
at Eckerds.
To Spartanburg, Charlotte,
Charleston, I-26: Left out of campground. Right at stop sign. Go 7
miles. Turn right at flashing yellow light. Left at stoplight at Flat
Rock playhouse. Right at next stoplight, onto Highland Lake Rd. Keep
Straight...will go all the way to I-26.
To Greenville, SC, Atlanta, Hwy 25S:
Left out of campground. Right at stop sign. Go 7 miles. Turn right at
flashing yellow light. Right at stoplight at Flat Rock playhouse. Ramp
to 25S will be on right about 5 miles.
